New Feature: Face Recognition Comes to Mavis Smart Glasses

Mavis Technologies has introduced Face Recognition, a new feature designed to make social interactions more natural, accessible and confident for blind and partially sighted users.

With Mavis Glasses, users can register familiar people and have their names announced automatically when they come into view. Registering a face is simple — a spoken command such as “Add new face” or “Register a face” guides the user through capturing clear photos and saving the person’s name.

Once enabled, recognised people are announced by name as part of the glasses’ scene descriptions, helping users identify familiar faces naturally. Users can also ask at any time, “Who is in front of me?”, or enable continuous recognition for a fully hands-free experience.
