The glasses are controlled using two buttons on the right side. In some versions, these buttons may appear as a single combined control. Pressing different areas still works as two separate buttons.
These are referred to as:
- Button F (front button)
- Button B (back button)
What does Button B do?
- Short press: activates a brief description of the surroundings
- Press for about 2 seconds: activates a more detailed description
- Press for more than 5 seconds: activates obstacle detection
Descriptions and response times may vary depending on the environment.
What does Button F do?
- Short press: activates the voice assistant
- Press for about 2 seconds: activates text-to-speech for reading
- Press for more than 5 seconds: puts the glasses into sleep mode
Are the button controls easy to use?
The controls are designed to be consistent and accessible. Most users may need a short period of practice to become familiar with the different press durations.
What is scene description?
Scene description is a feature that provides spoken information about the user’s surroundings using the glasses.
What types of scene description are available?
The glasses offer two types of scene description: short and detailed.
What is short scene description?
Short scene description provides a brief summary of the environment in a few words. It is designed to be quick and can run continuously.
What is detailed scene description?
Detailed scene description provides a more comprehensive explanation of the surroundings, including additional context where available. The level of detail may vary depending on the environment.
How do I activate detailed scene description?
Press and hold Button B for approximately 2 seconds to activate detailed scene description.
How do I activate voice assistance?
Press Button F to activate voice assistance. The glasses will play a sound to confirm activation and indicate that they are listening.
How does voice input work?
After activation, the glasses begin recording your voice. They will automatically detect when you stop speaking and play a sound to confirm that your request is being processed.
In louder environments, if speech is not detected clearly, you can press Button F again to stop recording and send your request.
What is conversation mode?
Voice assistance supports a continuous conversation mode. After responding to a request, the glasses will play a sound to indicate they are ready for the next question.
For example, you can ask for a scene description, then follow up with related questions such as whether there are people nearby. The system will continue responding within the same interaction.
Does the system use the same view during a conversation?
During a single interaction, the glasses use the initial captured view to provide responses. You do not need to remain still while speaking.
To receive updated information about your surroundings, you should end the current interaction and start a new one.
What can voice assistance be used for?
Voice assistance can be used to:
- Request scene descriptions
- Activate features such as obstacle detection or navigation
- Check emails (where available)
- Ask general questions or search for information online
Some features require an internet connection and an active subscription.
Are there any limitations?
Performance may vary depending on background noise, connectivity, and environmental conditions.
